How To Buy Yoga Books Online

The convenience of online shopping makes it the preferred method for many people but it brings with it a whole new problem. Suppose, for example, that you decide that you would like to buy a yoga book. Amazon would seem to be a good place to start, but when a search brings up more than 22,000 titles the task seems much less straightforward. How can you be sure which is going to be the best for your purpose, and for that matter what do you hope to obtain from the yoga books?

Much of what is available is traditional in nature and not necessarily very scientific from a modern western point of view. You would no doubt prefer something more in tune with modern life, knowledge, and thinking. In fact, you will find that many of the yoga books are totally devoid of any up-to-date concepts. You might be attracted to the work of a yogi who has been practicing for many years; indeed you may have a teacher who produces his own book. These days it is often possible to look inside some of the pages online to see what is covered or to have a look at the table of contents or at the back cover.

Yatan Yoga Therapy

Many of the books are devoted to the yoga poses (asanas) while others deal with the applications in various illnesses. To make matters more confusing the same postures can often be performed in many different ways. It is, therefore, necessary first to decide your main purpose in buying the book – is it just for general interest, as a hobby for yoga philosophy for beginners or for your own yoga at-home practice. With so much to choose from you might decide to ask your own yoga teacher who may well have a good knowledge of what is available, or you may be guided by a therapist or a doctor.

My own two books Yoga BooksYoga for Beginners (Yatan Yoga Books) and Yatan Yoga Books Therapy have been specifically designed to cater to the needs of anybody, from beginner to advanced, to provide all that is required for a complete yoga in daily life practice. Covering all the main asanas and breathing exercises as well as applications for most everyday health problems and sections dealing with a wide variety of occupations they might well be the only books on the subject that you will ever need.

‘Yatan Yoga Books‘ and ‘Yatan Yoga Books Therapy’ are available In hardback from our online store or as e-books from Amazon.
