In-Clinic & Telehealth Consultations
Rejuvenation in Ayurveda is called Rasayana, and it is one of the eight classical branches of the medicine rather than a modern wellness add on. It is not a facial and it is not a supplement. It is a structured, staged process of clearing what the body has accumulated, then rebuilding tissue quality, digestion, sleep and energy from there.
The YATAN Rejuvenation Program was designed by Ayurvedic Vaidya Raman Das Mahatyagi, who has practised for more than 30 years. It runs for 52 weeks in four stages, with a consultation every three weeks, a yoga therapy program that changes as you change, and all your herbal preparations and home care tools prepared for you. Consultations happen in clinic at Gordon NSW or by telehealth Australia wide.

Why do Rejuvenation?
Once you reach mid life, typically after 40, biological, hormonal and metabolic functions decrease and the effects of ageing start becoming more and more noticeable and may even be impacting your quality of life.
The high stress and fast pace of modern life, with many of us not eating enough nourishing food or getting sufficient rest, relaxation and exercise, can accelerate that process. Changes in skin texture and appearance, in muscle tone, and increasing stiffness and general aches can be early signals of a more significant decline.
Rejuvenation means making young again. This implies not only a slowing down of the ageing process but also increasing the body’s resistance to disease by a process of revitalisation.

Supporting Graceful, Healthy Ageing
Most people as they age would like to stay in their own home and stay independent, enjoying a good quality of life in retirement. Being able to take pleasure in daily activities, hobbies, family and friends requires health, mobility and good cognitive function.
The Yatan Rejuvenation Program is built around managing your progress toward that stage of life, so you arrive in the best health you can be. The alternatives, which are hospital stays, moving into aged care and managing long term lifestyle conditions, are costly. Not only in money, but in the loss of the life you wanted to be living.
Who This Program Suits
We suggest most people over 40 consider a rejuvenation program, but the YATAN Rejuvenation Program is not restricted by age and it is not only for people with age related symptoms. It suits:
- People living with a long term health condition who want to feel stronger day to day, working alongside their doctor
- Women moving through perimenopause and menopause
- People who have finished a course of medical treatment and want support rebuilding energy, appetite and sleep
- People carrying more weight than they are comfortable with
- People whose energy, cycle or metabolism feels out of rhythm
- People dealing with mental fatigue, poor concentration and brain fog
- People carrying long term stress who want help with sleep, mood and resilience
- Anyone who simply wants to feel better, more vital and energised
Ayurvedic care works alongside your medical care, not instead of it. If you are being treated for a health condition, keep your doctor or specialist informed and keep taking prescribed medication unless they advise otherwise.
Before you start, see your GP if any of these apply
A rejuvenation program is for building on a stable baseline. These symptoms need medical assessment first, not a herbal program:
- Chest pain, pressure or tightness, especially on exertion
- New or worsening breathlessness
- Unexplained weight loss
- Blood in urine or bowel motions
- A lump, or a mole that has changed shape, size or colour
- Persistent fever, night sweats or pain that wakes you
- Thoughts of harming yourself

If you are taking prescription medication tell us at your first consultation. Some herbs interact with prescription medicines, particularly blood thinners, thyroid medication, sedatives, diabetes medication and immunosuppressants. We will adjust your program around them.
What Rejuvenation Is, And What It Is Not
Rejuvenation is not
There are a lot of misconceptions about what rejuvenation means. It gets confused with anti ageing treatments and spa therapy, and people assume it refers to the effect of face and body creams, botox, or a massage. That is not what this is. Those treatments work on the surface, and they are partial and temporary by design.
Rejuvenation is
True rejuvenation is a process of repair, regeneration and revitalisation at a cellular level. Biological activity is supported so that tissue can function properly. Done well, it changes how you feel across the whole system: more vitality, energy, stamina and strength.
- All natural and plant based
- Customised to your constitution rather than sold off a shelf
- Traditionally used in Ayurveda as a preventative practice
- Checked against any prescription medication you take
- A natural detox and tonic for the whole system
- Targets biological repair and support at a cellular level
- Reviewed every three weeks by your practitioner, and adjusted as your body responds
Herbal medicines are still medicines. They can interact with prescription drugs and they are not right for every person or every situation. That is why this program is prescribed and reviewed by a practitioner rather than sold as a kit.
A Holistic Concept of Rejuvenation
The YATAN Rejuvenation Program, created by Ayurvedic Vaidya Raman Das Mahatyagi, is built on the principles and practice of holistic rejuvenation.
Rejuvenation is not a new idea. In Ayurveda it is called Rasayana, and people sought Rasayana treatment from Ayurvedic physicians in India long before it was written down. The classical texts that describe it, the Charaka Samhita and the Sushruta Samhita, were compiled more than two thousand years ago, and the oral tradition behind them is older again.
Cleansing and detoxification practices were widely used across ancient India as a way of restoring the body, mind and spirit, and as a way of preventing illness and staying well into old age.
How Classical Ayurveda Names Rejuvenation
Rejuvenation has its own dedicated branch in Ayurveda with its own vocabulary. These terms are worth knowing, because they are what distinguishes a Rasayana program from a spa package.
| Sanskrit term | Meaning | What it means for your program |
|---|---|---|
| Rasayana | Rejuvenation therapy | The whole discipline this program sits inside. Literally the path of rasa, the first and most fundamental tissue |
| Rasayana tantra | The rejuvenation branch | One of the eight branches of Ashtanga Ayurveda, alongside surgery, paediatrics, toxicology and the rest |
| Ashtanga Ayurveda | The eight branches | The classical structure of Ayurvedic medicine. Rejuvenation is not an add on, it is a discipline |
| Ojas | Vital reserve | The body’s resilience store. Depletes with chronic stress, poor sleep and overwork. Rebuilding it is the point of stage four. While it does not directly equate to mitochondrial function, healthy mitochondria and efficient cellular energy production may reflect some of the physiological qualities associated with good Ojas. |
| Ama | Metabolic residue | What accumulates when digestion is incomplete. Clearing it is the point of stage one |
| Agni | Digestive fire | Metabolic capacity. Rasayana herbs do very little until agni is working, which is why detox comes first. When Agni functions well, nutrients are properly digested and utilised to nourish the dhatus (tissues), ultimately supporting the formation and maintenance of Ojas. |
| Dhatu | The seven tissues | Plasma, blood, muscle, fat, bone, marrow, reproductive tissue. Stage two and three work through these in order |
| Vaya sthapana | Age stabilising | The classical herb category for slowing ageing. Amalaki is the reference herb |
| Achara Rasayana | Conduct as rejuvenation | The classical position that honesty, calm, regular sleep and kindness are themselves rejuvenative. This is why the program includes lifestyle work, not just herbs |
| Kutipraveshika | Indoor Rasayana | The intensive residential method, done in seclusion |
| Vatatapika | Outdoor Rasayana | The method done while living a normal working life. This is the method your program uses |
The Ayurvedic Approach
Rejuvenation therapy is one of the eight branches of medicine in Ayurveda, known as Rasayana tantra. It is concerned with health and longevity into old age, working through metabolism, vitality and immunity. Ayurveda treats individual constitution, your dosha, as central to how a rejuvenation program is built, so yours is shaped around your constitution and your specific concerns rather than run from a template.
The program opens with detoxification of all the organs, covering the digestive tract, liver, skin, eyes and ears, to clear the channels of the residue interfering with normal function. Once those channels are clear, your individual organs, tissues and systems are addressed according to the imbalances specific to your body type
Please note
This program does not include Panchakarma treatments as part of the detoxification and rejuvenation process. Natural detoxifying methods using Ayurvedic medicines, a specific diet and yoga techniques are used instead, which makes the program far easier to fit around a modern working life.

Typical Herbs Traditionally Used
Your preparations are made up for you rather than bought off a shelf, and they change through the year as your body changes. Below are some of the classical Rasayana herbs that may be used.
| Herb | Botanical name | Traditional Ayurvedic use |
| Amalaki | Emblica officinalis | The reference Rasayana herb. Vaya sthapana, age stabilising. The principal ingredient in Chyawanprash |
| Ashwagandha | Withania somnifera | Strength, stamina and resilience under stress. Traditionally used where depletion follows long strain |
| Guduchi | Tinospora cordifolia | Called Amrita, the nectar herb. Immunity and recovery |
| Shatavari | Asparagus racemosus | Nourishing and cooling. Traditionally used through the menopausal years |
| Brahmi | Bacopa monnieri | Memory, concentration and mental clarity |
| Shankhapushpi | Convolvulus pluricaulis | Calm, sleep and mental steadiness |
| Haritaki | Terminalia chebula | Digestion and elimination. One of the three fruits in Triphala |
| Bhringraj | Eclipta alba | Hair, scalp and liver. Used as an oil and internally |

The YATAN Process
The Rejuvenation Program is built around the YATAN process, five healing modalities that work together to create a protocol targeting your mental, physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing at the same time.
Yoga
Assists circulation and the absorption of nutrients through the postures (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayama). Yoga is highly geometrical, so it helps the body align to the angles of each organ and assists the flow to and from that organ. Regular practice builds strength, has a detoxifying effect and increases flexibility.
Ayurveda
Nourishes the whole system through herbal preparations with anti stress, adaptogenic and memory supporting properties. Ayurveda also has its own detox method, designed to flush and remove residue (ama) from the organs and tissues. Once the ama is cleared, the seven tissues (dhatus) can repair, revitalise and regenerate.
Tantra
Works with emotional patterns and deeper karmic imbalances. These create blockages that affect health because you keep repeating the same unhelpful patterns. The practice uses mantra for emotional and karmic difficulty. Emotions that are never transformed tend to surface physically.
Astrology
Helps make sense of why things are happening when they are happening, health included. Your time and place of birth relate to planetary positions at that moment, and reading them can indicate where the pressure in your life is coming from. Your program may be adjusted based on what that shows.
Nature
Reinforces the body’s electromagnetic field and aligns body, mind and spirit with the world around you. Our bodies have an affinity with the natural elements they are made from, which is what makes plants, foods and herbs so well suited as remedies.

Everything given to you is designed to be practical for your schedule and your life. There is no value in prescribing a routine you cannot realistically keep, so we work with what your week actually looks like.
That works out to around 18 one to one practitioner appointments across the year, plus a yoga session and an astrology session, plus every herb and tool you need. Nothing on this list is charged separately.
The 52 week program is divided into four 13 week stages
Weeks 1 to 13
Stage One
Balancing your doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) to improve overall health and reduce symptoms, clearing the bodily channels and bringing all systems into balance
Weeks 14 to 26
Stage Two
Organ rejuvenation, aimed at improving how each one functions. Using medicines, guidance and techniques we work on the digestive organs, the reproductive organs, the liver, the lungs and the brain
Weeks 27 to 39
Stage Three
System rejuvenation, targeting the lymphatic system, the musculoskeletal system, the nervous system and the endocrine system
Weeks 40 to 52
Stage Four
Complete rejuvenation of body, mind and spirit. This stage stabilises the whole system, body, mind, spirit and emotion together, to hold the balance you have built
What People On The Program Commonly Report
Rejuvenation works across all the tissues, so people tend to notice change in more than one place at once. These are the things clients most often mention:
- Skin that looks brighter and feels firmer
- A more toned body
- Energy that holds through the day rather than dropping off
- Losing weight they had been carrying
- Clearer memory and easier concentration
- Better mobility and flexibility
- Improved digestion and more regular bowel movements
- Sleeping through the night
- Returning interest in intimacy
- Feeling more resilient when they get run down
- Motivation and a more positive outlook
- More creativity and willpower
Everyone responds differently, and what you notice will depend on your constitution, your starting point and how consistently you keep to your program. Your practitioner reviews your progress every three weeks and adjusts from there.
How This Compares With What Else Is On Offer
Most people considering rejuvenation have already looked at two or three other options. Here is an honest comparison.
| Option | What it addresses | Time frame | Honest limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cosmetic anti ageing (injectables, laser, facials) | Visible surface signs on the face | Weeks to months, then repeat | Works on appearance only. Does nothing for sleep, digestion, energy or stamina |
| Off the shelf supplements | Single nutrients or single herbs | Ongoing, indefinitely | Not matched to your constitution, no practitioner reviewing your response, quality varies widely |
| Panchakarma retreat | Intensive cleansing over a short residential stay | One to three weeks away | Powerful but brief. Without follow up the gains fade, and it requires taking leave and travelling |
| Doing nothing yet | Nothing | Indefinite | The decline described at the top of this page continues, and it is easier to rebuild at 48 than at 62 |
| Yatan Rejuvenation Program | Digestion, sleep, energy, tissue quality, stress load, mobility and mental clarity together | 52 weeks, staged | It is a real commitment of money, time and daily habit. It will not suit someone looking for a quick result |
The Part That Costs Nothing
Classical Ayurveda holds that conduct itself is rejuvenative, a principle called Achara Rasayana. Herbs work faster when these are in place, and slower when they are not. You can start any of them today, before you ever pick up the phone.
- Sleep before 10pm
- The body does its repair work in the earlier part of the night. Late nights deplete Ojas faster than almost anything else
- Eat your largest meal at midday
- Agni, your digestive capacity, is strongest when the sun is highest. A heavy evening meal leaves residue overnight
- Warm water on waking
- Encourages elimination and starts clearing overnight residue before anything else goes in
- Self massage with warm oil
- Abhyanga. Calms the nervous system, supports circulation and directly counters the dryness that drives Vata ageing
- Scrape your tongue each morning
- Removes overnight coating and gives you a daily reading of how well you digested yesterday
- Move every day
- Enough to warm the body and breathe deeply. Not necessarily hard, but daily
- Keep regular hours
- The body rejuvenates on rhythm. Irregular meals and sleep undo a great deal of the herbal work
- Truthfulness and calm
- Named explicitly in the classical texts as Rasayana. Held anger and unresolved stress consume Ojas as reliably as poor sleep

That is a saving of $4,075.24, and it works out to $382.63 per week.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is the Yatan Rejuvenation Program?
A. It is a 52 week Ayurvedic Rasayana program created by Ayurvedic Vaidya Raman Das Mahatyagi. It runs in four 13 week stages: clearing the channels and balancing the doshas, rejuvenating individual organs, rejuvenating body systems, then stabilising body, mind and emotions together. It includes an initial one hour consultation, a review every three weeks, yoga therapy, one Vedic astrology session, and all your herbal preparations and home care tools. Consultations are held in clinic at Gordon NSW or by telehealth Australia wide.
Q. What does Rasayana mean?
A. Rasayana is the Sanskrit name for the rejuvenation branch of Ayurveda, one of the eight branches of Ashtanga Ayurveda. It refers to practices that restore tissue quality, digestion and vitality rather than treating a single symptom. Classical Ayurveda describes two Rasayana methods: Kutipraveshika, done in seclusion, and Vatatapika, done while living an ordinary working life. This program uses the Vatatapika method.
Q. How much does the Rejuvenation Program cost?
A. The program is $461 per week for 52 weeks, which is $23,972 in total. Paying the full package upfront attracts a 17 per cent discount, bringing it to $19,896.76. The fee covers all consultations, all herbal preparations, the yoga therapy book and every tool used in the program. Nothing is charged on top. Call 1300 552 260 to discuss payment arrangements.
Q. Why does the program run for a full year?
A. Because tissue rebuilds on its own timetable. The first 13 weeks are spent clearing residue and settling digestion, and Rasayana herbs do very little before that groundwork is done. Organ work follows, then system work, then a final stage that holds the balance in place. Compressing it into a few weeks produces a short lived result, which is the difference between a rejuvenation program and a detox.
Q. Is Panchakarma included in this program?
A. No. This program deliberately excludes Panchakarma treatments. Detoxification is achieved through Ayurvedic medicines, a specific diet and yoga techniques, which makes the program far easier to fit around work and family life. If you would prefer intensive Panchakarma treatment, that is offered separately at the clinic.
Q. Do I need to live in Sydney to do this program?
A. No. Consultations can be held by telehealth anywhere in Australia, and herbs and tools are posted to you. Clients who can attend in person visit the clinic at Suite 28, 924 Pacific Highway, Gordon NSW 2072, on Sydney’s Upper North Shore. Many clients combine the two, coming in when they can and doing the rest by video.
Q. Do I have to be over 40?
A. No. Most people considering rejuvenation are over 40 because that is when the changes become noticeable, but the program is not age restricted. Younger people with long term stress, disrupted digestion, poor sleep or a history of illness often benefit as much or more, because there is more to work with.
Q. What happens in the first consultation?
A. The first consultation runs a full hour. Raman Das takes a detailed health history, assesses your constitution and your current imbalances using traditional methods including pulse and tongue assessment, and asks about your sleep, digestion, energy, stress and daily routine. You leave with the first stage of your program: your herbs, your diet direction and your starting practices. Bring a list of any medications and supplements you take.
Q. How soon will I notice a difference?
A. It varies with your constitution and your starting point. Most people notice changes in digestion, sleep or energy within the first four to six weeks, because those respond first. Changes in skin, muscle tone, stamina and mental clarity generally show through the second and third stages. Your progress is reviewed every three weeks and your program adjusted from there.
Q. Will I have to change my diet completely?
A. No. Your diet is adjusted to suit your constitution and what your body needs at each stage, and the changes are introduced gradually. Advice is built around your actual schedule, because a plan you cannot keep is not worth prescribing. Most people find the changes are smaller and more manageable than they expected.
Q. Can I take Ayurvedic herbs alongside my prescription medicines?
A. Often yes, but it must be assessed individually. Herbal medicines are still medicines and some interact with prescription drugs, particularly blood thinners, thyroid medication, sedatives, diabetes medication and immunosuppressants. Bring a full list of everything you take to your first consultation, including supplements. Keep your GP informed and do not stop prescribed medication unless your doctor advises it.
Q. Can I do this program while I am under medical care?
A. Yes. Ayurvedic care is intended to work alongside your medical treatment, not replace it. If you are being treated for a health condition, keep your doctor or specialist informed that you are on the program and let us know what treatment you are receiving so your herbs and practices can be arranged around it.
Q. What happens if I need to pause the program?
A. Life happens, and people travel, get busy or hit a difficult stretch. Talk to us as early as you can so your program can be adjusted rather than abandoned. Call 1300 552 260 to discuss your specific situation and what arrangements are possible.
Q. Can I claim any of this on private health insurance?
A. Ayurveda itself is not among the therapies eligible for private health insurance rebates in Australia. From 1 July 2025 the Australian Government reinstated seven natural therapies for private health insurance rebates, including yoga, and funds are working through accreditation and claiming processes. Whether any part of your program is claimable depends on your fund, your policy and practitioner recognition, and rebates apply to treatment of a health condition rather than general wellness. Check directly with your health fund before you assume any rebate applies.
Q. How is this different from anti ageing treatments or supplements?
A. Cosmetic anti ageing treatments work on the surface of the face and change nothing about how you sleep, digest or feel. Supplements deliver a single nutrient or herb with nobody reviewing your response. This program works on digestion, tissue quality, sleep, stress load and energy together, with a practitioner reassessing you every three weeks across a full year and changing the prescription as your body changes.
