What Happens in Your 10 Minutes
A 10-minute call is short, so here is exactly how it is used:
1
You describe what is going on (about 4 minutes). Your main concern, how long you have had it, what you have already tried, and what you are hoping for.
2
Raman Das asks a few targeted questions (about 3 minutes). In Ayurveda, the same symptom in two people can have two different underlying patterns, so he will ask about digestion, sleep, energy and stress rather than the symptom alone.
3
He tells you honestly whether Ayurveda is likely to help (about 2 minutes). Including when it is not the right fit, and when you should see your GP or a specialist first.
4
You decide what happens next (about 1 minute). If you want to proceed, he explains what a full consultation involves and what it costs. If you do not, that is completely fine. There is no follow-up sales call.
What This Call Is and What It Isn’t
This call IS
- A genuine conversation with the practitioner himself, not a receptionist or a call centre.
- A chance to ask anything about Ayurveda and how it works.
- An honest assessment of whether Ayurveda is likely to help you.
- Free, with no obligation and no credit card.
This call is NOT
- A full diagnosis. Ten minutes is not enough to assess your constitution properly.
- A prescription. No herbs or remedies are dispensed on this call.
- A replacement for your doctor. Keep taking any medication your GP has prescribed.
- A hard-sell call. If it is not the right fit, he will tell you.
Who Is This For?
Our free 10-minute phone consultations are designed for new patients who are considering Ayurvedic care and want to explore whether it is the right fit.
It tends to suit you if:
- You have a long-standing or recurring concern and want to understand it differently.
- You would rather work on the underlying pattern than only manage the symptom.
- You have questions about Ayurveda and want them answered by a practitioner, not a website.
- You live outside Sydney and want to know whether telehealth would work for you.
Booking is easy. Simply provide your preferred contact phone number, and Raman Das will personally call you at the scheduled time.
How to Prepare (2 minutes)
You do not need to prepare anything, but the call is more useful if you have:
- A one-line summary of your main concern and roughly when it started.
- A list of any medications or supplements you currently take.
- A note of anything you have already tried, and whether it helped.
- Your two or three most important questions.
- A quiet place to talk. You will get more out of it than taking the call in the car.
How an Ayurvedic Practitioner Actually Assesses You
Ayurveda does not start with the disease name. It starts with the person. On the free call, and in much more depth in a full consultation, Raman Das is building a picture of two things:
Prakriti: your natural constitution.
The balance of the three doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) that you were born with. It does not change, and it explains a great deal about your build, digestion, temperament and sleep.
Vikriti: your current imbalance.
How far your present state has drifted from that baseline. This is what is actually causing your symptoms, and this is what care is aimed at.
In a full consultation this is assessed through Rogi Pariksha (examination of the patient), including Nadi Pariksha (pulse assessment), observation of the tongue, eyes and skin, and a detailed history of digestion, sleep, energy and stress. This is why two people with the same symptom can be given completely different herbs, diet and routine.
