Rejuvenation is More Than Just Skin Deep

What is Rejuvenation?

to make young or youthful again: give new vigour to1

to restore to an original or new state1

For such a youth and appearance focused culture, it is a sad fact of life that aging occurs.   Aging results from an accumulation of damage to cells, tissues and organs, and although it is true that genes play a part; lifestyle and environmental factors also have a significant influence on how fast we age.

Effective rejuvenation techniques should focus on practical methods to reverse the aging process by repairing this damage and revitalising the body, then provide steps to support and maintain these improvements.

The Modern Concept of Rejuvenation

Most rejuvenation techniques that are widely advertised and available today are really only focusing on skin rejuvenation or body augmentation – creating the “appearance of youth” via products (creams and cleansers), makeup, cosmetic surgery, laser treatments, injections (Botox or fillers), facials etc.

Most beauty creams and facials, although giving an initial “feel good” boost, usually have very transient results unless repeated with high regularity, and usually at high expense.

Other procedures come with much higher risk (of infection, skin damage, having a “botched” job etc) and even greater expense.  They may seem to show good results temporarily on the outside, but are invasive, potentially toxic, and may come with various unforeseen immediate or future side effects.  This superficial approach doesn’t affect the rate of aging or enhance your general health and ability to resist disease.

The Concept of Rejuvenation in Ayurveda

The concept of rejuvenation in Ayurveda is an ancient one, and is called Rasayana chikitsa (Rejuvenation), one of the eight branches of Ayurvedic Medicine.

In the Vedic sutras there is a plant, made into a sacred drink, Soma, that was said to change your body, mind and soul making you immortal. Certain types of elixirs were described as also rejuvenating the human body. Although given in the Ayurvedic texts, due to complications these methods have been lost due to plant extinction, misunderstandings of techniques and texts, or not enough knowledge or practice of how to use these medicines and methods. Still, in Ayurveda there are many ways of rejuvenation, but people don’t have a proper understanding of how to interpret and apply it to their lives.

I have been researching these techniques for over 30 years and have established my own way with modern scientific and Ayurvedic methods. With this knowledge I have come up with my own rejuvenation program, including these techniques, yoga etc. Rejuvenation starts from inside and comes outward through the body. There is a systemic rejuvenation, in each organ and system, lung rejuvenation, brain rejuvenation, gut rejuvenation, skeletal system rejuvenation. If all these systems rejuvenate it will come through into the skin. Over time with practice in my clinic I have found that healing these systems shows through the skin, for younger and older people.

Why do Rejuvenation?

To not only look, but feel our best, and be able to enjoy life with family and friends, continue to work and participate in hobbies and activities we enjoy with vigour and enthusiasm requires good health as a foundation – which becomes harder as we age. Rejuvenation is important for quality of life, for slowing the aging process and minimising disease, particularly chronic diseases.

And looking to later years, even facing death can be more peaceful without the struggle of illness and pain, making passing into the next life more comfortable for oneself and family.

The Yatan Rejuvenation Program

If you want to move beyond the superficial results of cosmetic surgery, facials and fad diets, then embarking on an Ayurvedic rejuvenation regime will work on you to slow the decline and bring a bloom to your skin and a healthy vitality that comes from within.

Our rejuvenation program includes an individually tailored detox course, Ayurvedic herbs, diet, lifestyle advice and yoga.  Just one factor is not enough – all work together holistically to strengthen and revitalise all the systems of the body, mind and soul.

Ideally suited to anyone from 40 onwards, anyone can do the program but will need to be in the course for one year minimum, depending on the person to gain the optimum results.  If done with commitment for a year you will experience a big impact from beauty, to mind and body enhancement, to boosting in health and vitality – where others will notice the dramatic change in your face and body.

The first step is to address any ailments medically or physically prior to starting the program. After the body has healed sufficiently then the rejuvenation can start, otherwise the program will not work as effectively due to compromised bodily systems.

Rejuvenation combines all the greatest techniques of Ayurveda and help to boost the body’s natural rhythms, optimize cellular function, reduce free radicals, identify and aid in reversing specific weaknesses in the body, promote longevity, health and harmony.
