Balancing Through Oils – Lakshadi Massage Oil

Lakshadi oil is the massage oil which we have selected for balancing Pitta. When Pitta is in excess it helps to pacify it and conversely, when it is deficient it helps elevate it.

As with all of our Ayurvedic massage oils, Lakshadi is made from an infusion of herbs – in this case around 15 – infused in sesame oil, using Ayurveda’s unique oil extraction process.

Excess Pitta or uneven Pitta distribution can give rise to a wide variety of problems, such as eczema, dry skin and hot flushes. Lakshadi oil is effective in balancing the distribution of Pitta. It is also beneficial in the case of fever and can assist greatly in recovery from bone injuries, such as a broken leg or arm. Its constituents also have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.

Lakshadi is the oil of choice for massaging babies, to help protect them from bacterial infections, coughs and colds. Its herbal ingredients have all the properties that Ayurveda has traditionally regarded as important for tissue health, whether  of skin, cartilage, or tendons, so it is a good source of nutrients to supply the growing tissues. It is also beneficial in relieving stress, helping the child to sleep better.

The oil is also recommended for older people, in view of its benefits in maintaining the condition of the body tissues.

Lakshadi oil is available from our online store.
