What is a Neti pot or Netty Pot?
Jala Neti (nasal cleansing using warm salty water) is a traditional part of the Yoga system and also the daily routine prescribed by Ayurveda. This practice has been used for thousands of years for its physical benefits, which also enables deeper, more effective spiritual practice.
The Yatan Neti Pot provides you with a simple and effective way to perform saline nasal rinsing. We have selected quality 18/8 stainless steel as being the best material for the purpose.
Why is Stainless Steel Neti Pot best?
There are a number of advantages to stainless steel, as compared to ceramic or copper neti pots, the main ones being:
They are easy to keep clean – copper constantly tarnishes which makes it difficult to clean inside the pot
They are virtually unbreakable – ceramic can be heavy and you need to be careful in the bathroom with it!
What are the special features of the YATAN Stainless Steel Neti Pot?

What are Neti Pot benefits?
All ear, nose and throat problems originate in the mucus lining of the sinuses. Regular cleansing not only improves the sense of smell but also the eyesight and the memory can benefit. Saline nasal rinsing is antibacterial and antifungal and is recommended as a treatment for a wide variety of sinus related conditions. Q. What if water gets stuck in the nasal passage?
A. This is usually caused by sinus blockage or inflammation. With continued use the problem should resolve itself. It often helps to add an extra spoon of rock salt. It is also helpgful to do 5 rounds of Hastha-Kati Chakrasana (see the Yoga books‘Yatan Yoga Therapy’).
Q. What if more mucus is produced than expected?
A. Keep going – this can only be a good sign. Your body obviously needs to rid itself of excess mucus.
Q. What is the best way to blow the nose to completely rid it of water?
A. Do 21 rounds of Kapala Bhati (see Yoga Books‘Yatan Yoga Therapy’).
Q. Why is rock salt used?
A. It has a high level of potassium and other minerals, and while it is extremely penetrative and efficient in removing toxins it does so without disturbing the pH of the nasal membranes.
Q. When is the best time to use the Neti pot?
A. As a rule, in the morning but in a hot climate it may be beneficial at any time of the day. It should not be used when it is raining or in conditions of high humidity.
Q. Who can use the Neti pot?
A. Anybody, even children.
Q. Why should nasal drops be used afterwards?
A. After cleansing the drops help to maintain the integrity and the pH of the nasal membranes, protecting them against bacteria and fungi and against pollutants from the outside, by filtering the air.
