Saindhav - Ayurvedic Rock
Salt
For All Dosha Types
Sweet, cooling, light,
carminative and digestive.
Known in Ayurveda as "Saindhav", this crystal rock salt
reflects the wholeness, richness and purity of its
source - underground salt deposits in the Himalayan
regions of India and Pakistan. When the ancient seas
evaporated, these deposits were created under great
pressure during the formation of the Himalayas hundreds
of millions of years ago. Protected from pollutants and
impurities by nature of its location, the salt remains
unrefined, untreated and free of additives. The large
salt crystals are simply cut up, rinsed with water, sun
dried naturally and ground into a fine powder.
Recommended in Ayurveda for all dosha types - it is less
heating and will not aggravate Pitta dosha. It
naturally retains many of the ancient sea water
trace
minerals giving the salt its unique properties and
gentle food enhancing flavour.
Excellent for use in
cooking.
Ayurvedic Rock Salt can also be used for Jalaneti (nasal
cleansing using a Neti Pot).
To create a saline solution for nasal cleansing, add ¼
to ½ teaspoon of this salt to lukewarm filtered water in
your neti pot. And for a relaxing salt bath add up to
100g to a full bath of warm water along with your
favourite essential oils.
